Admission Requirements

  • An Academia Nursing Program application
  • The applicant must be a high school graduate. The applicant must provide documentation of graduation from high school in the form of a valid high school diploma, transcript or other acceptable documentation issued by an authorized state education agency (e.g. General Education Development (GED) in Ohio.) International transcripts/documents need to be evaluated by a third-party evaluator for equivalency
  • Pre-Entrance Examinations with a basic level test score or higher as determined by the testing company/Program Administrator.
  • State Tested Nurse Aid Training Program STNAP (75 hour course). If the applicant does not have proof of the STNAP (either a certificate or registry number) it must be taken prior to start of class. *** (The individual does not need to active on the nurse aid registry).

Clinical Checklist
Must be completed before first day of clinicals

  • Physical: Must be able to perform physical demands of the program
  • Immunizations:
    • 2 Step Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test, or as necessary a chest x-ray
    • Hepatitis B series or a signed waiver declining immunization
    • History of 2 MMR Vaccinations or titer showing immunity
    • DTaP Vaccine
  • CPR: Must be CPR certified with the American Heart Association
  • BCI Background Check: Reports that contain excluding documentation may result in the student not being able to attend clinical rotations (FBI background check must also be done if you have lived outside of Ohio more than five years ago)
  • Annual Flu Vaccine: Must be obtained when it becomes available during Flu SeasoN

Board of Nursing (OBN) and Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools approved academia’s LPN Program. Ohio Department of Healthcare (ODH), Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) and Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools (OBCCS) approved our Nurses Aide Training and our NATCEP STNA Program. The staff and nursing faculty truly care about our education and they want each and everyone of us to succeed.
